Founder

First of all, I am happy to be able to declare, without any hesitation at all, that I am a born again Christian; saved by the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ, set aside for His service. These are the best of my credentials. Only by the grace of God, I am who I am.

– Pastor Enock Deroseney

Pastor Jean Enock Deroseney is the founder and director of the Good Samaritan Project. Pastor Enock was born on May 3, 1949, in Les Cayes, Haiti, located on the south side of the peninsula. His mother, Rosellia Derruisseaux, died 3 months after he was born. Upon the death of the mother of little Enock, his father, Mr. Monjilma Deroseney, who had previously attended bible school to become a minister, had seen his plans chattered by the death of his wife as he became the sole nurser for his child. That is why the day that Enock was ordained as a minister became one of his father’s greatest days in life. During Enock’s childhood, his father moved with him from Les Cayes to make their living in Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti. Led and covered by the grace of the Lord, through hardships and in spite of the difficulties of life, Pastor Enock’s father taught him to know, love, and serve the Lord. Pastor Enock was raised and educated in Port-au-Prince. He went through primary school, however, he was unable to complete the last year of high school as he became very sick with TB. Due to the difficulties for his father to supply for eleven children, as a jobless man, Enock prayed to the Lord as he laid in bed, with no hope for the future. “Lord Jesus”, he said, “if you want me to be in heaven with you Lord, I am ready, but if you would please let me live again, I will serve you for the rest of my life”.

After Enock was healed from T.B., he remembered his promise to the Lord. He studied and passed the high school equivalency test that allowed him to enter at the Evangelical School of Bible of Port-au-Prince (a school lead by graduates of Dallas Seminary Barrington College, Philadelphia Bible School etc…) After four years of study, Pastor Enock graduated on July 1973, with a degree in Theological and Social Studies; a diploma that has the value of a Bachelor Degree in U.S.A. Pastor Enock also obtained a few credits from Columbia Bible College in Principles of Managing, Church leadership and Counseling.

Over the years, the Lord used Pastor Enock in several aspects of His ministry. He worked in radio broadcasting for 12 years, producing evangelical programs, such as bible studies, prayer times, counseling, and children programs. During that time, he also led many church services. He was officially ordained as a minister in October 1977; two years later, he left part of his position in radio broadcasting to start his new mission in a remote village of Haiti called Grand-Goave, where the Good Samaritan Project stand today. Pastor Enock is specially blessed with the gifts of preaching, teaching, and working with children and young people. He is also known to be a very good translator as he translates from English to Creole or French. He also understands a little bit of Spanish and reads Greek as well.

Pastor Enock is married to his wife Cloraine of which union is born: Priscilla, Sharan, Rebecca, Jean E. Jr, and George Victor. After the reading of the history of the Good Samaritan Project, you can see how the Lord has greatly used Pastor Enock throughout his 27 years of ministry. What is Pastor Enock’s goal today? “Be every day, every hour, every minute, at the service of the Master, till He comes.”
